Baby girl rats in need of a home

Currently up for adoption: 2 baby girl rats
$15 Rehoming fee (waved with completion of adoption form)
Cage not provided

Note: I've named the baby rats to differentiate them, but have not taught them their names. They are all open to whatever names you like. =)

Emma (albino) and her little sister, Olivia (black hooded)

Emma is very protective of Olivia and will bring her food.
Olivia's extremely curious but shy: she will hide,
then dart out to lick and nibble my fingers
(we're working on the nibbling issue),
then dart back in to her hammock to hide.
She's easy to hold, but still in the phase where she would run away if you put her down.

Baby boy rats still in need of homes

Noah (black hooded) playing with his twin brothers, Liam (adopted) and Ethan.

Ethan (albino) is great with other rats,
and taught his younger brothers (adopted)
how to play on the jungle gym.

Success story!

Success Story!

Two of the baby boys have been adopted into a home with an older rat who lost his brother. The highest success rates of new rat pairings is when they are all babies or when one is fully grown and the other is still a baby. Max (the grown rat) took to the babies immediately, grooming them and taking care of them.

Sophia

Success Story! Sophia has been adopted!

Sophia is a rags to riches story: born to a pair of domestic fancy rats who escaped their habitats, Sophia spent her infancy in a crawl space, living the life of a wild rat, with no idea of her origins! When she finally was captured and given a habitat with proper care and diet, she initially was terrified of feeling exposed, and spent most of her time in her fleece sleeping bag.

Our big concern was that she may not like humans, since she wasn't exposed to any as a baby. However, Sophia adores being petted!

Sophia was so excited to see her new digs, she ran circles around her transportation tank while waiting for her move.

I had to rub her ears to calm her down for her move.
She investigated her jungle gym, crawled around under her fleece, and then nestled in a corner 1/10th the size of her previous space.
Silly Sophie!

Sophia is currently being fostered at the Clinton branch of Happy Tails Worcester Foster Rats, but can easily be transported to Worcester for adoption. Sophia is waiting to be reunited with her sister, Emma, who was caught after Sophia. They will be available to be adopted as a bonded pair by Monday, January 9, 2017.
